Madsen Modern can restore your vintage furniture

Since 2012, we've restored thousands of pieces of vintage furniture for our retail inventory. In the process we've developed a potent restoration skillset we can use to restore the vintage furniture you already own.

Heirlooms, garage sale finds, the dining set that took a beating when the kids were small, the chair bought online that got cracked in shipping -- we can restore them to excellent condition and set them up for another generation of use.

Vintage furniture offers interesting design with a sense of history, better materials and craftsmanship than are common today, and the good feeling that comes from living with special things. But none of that counts for much if the pieces are grungy, wobbly, scuffed up, or breaking down. That’s why we do what we do.

We specialize in mid-century modern design, and we have extensive experience restoring furniture by the whole pantheon of 20th century design greats: Wegner, Juhl, Eames, Wormley, McCobb, Saarinenen, etc. along with pieces that may be less pedigreed but are no less valued by their owners.

(We occasionally work on pre-war pieces, but we rarely restore ornate antiques, so your Louis XIV armchair and Qing Dynasty cabinet would likely be a better fit for a shop with an antiques specialty.)

Our services include wood refinishing, structural and cosmetic repairs, reupholstery, caning and weaving, and lots more -- including some work with metal and fiberglass.

We're always happy to see if our skills and your item are a fit, so please contact us to discuss your project today.
